Based on a concept design by Tekka-Croe, I am creating a low-poly 3D model of a gun as would be typical of an asset for video games. The intention of this project is to have practice creating an asset from someone else' design, to learn Substance Painter, and to get experience bringing out the most amount of detail possible in a model with light geometry.
I progress is listed below as I continue to chip away at this.
I have completed the textures for all of the shaders. The next step will be to bring all of them into Maya to set up proper shaders. The renders above were made with Iray within Substance Painter. The purpose of rebuilding the shaders in Maya is partly so that I can create an animated turntable, but mostly for the practice and understanding in how the process is done.
If I had dailies to attend, I wonder what feedback I would receiveā€¦
