An example of a fly-though demonstration video used to visualise new building applications, by highlighting the building, often showing its surrounding context, views from street level, and shadow studies.
This video showcases the newest features available in Urban Engine (by Urban Circus) at the time, including depth of field and ambient occlusion.
These two images are photographs of a 3D printed model of Melbourne City. I contributed to this model by preparing and 3D printing some of the buildings shown.
I was given the tricky task of finding the maximum envelope possible for a particular site, that did not produce shadows which extend too far onto the beach, and that respected various other constraints. I was able to achieve this using Urban Engine's shadow study feature, and later traced the results using Illustrator to produce the images below.
